i'm not a big fan of the nvidia fx range, so i'd settle for the radeon (or, if you don't need full directx 9, you might want to pick up an older geforce4 card...)

Are Radeon drivers as bad as the GeForce ones???
Sometimes I when I install an updated GeForce driver, I`d get slower framerates (sometimes 1/2 speed of last driver!) or cause weird display bugs in some games or even crashing Windows, forcing me to go back to an earlier driver with less bugs !

no i don't get that. werid nivdia, i think, is trying to extend there card life times by incresing there speed.

Buy a Radeon!!! Thats what you should do!
At all the last time I used Geforce GFX Cards which works very good. After that I upgraded to Geforce FX5600 Ultra 256 MB DDR and I noticed that this card is not recently faster then mx Geforce 4200TI 128 MB DDR. I bought it for 250 Euros. One week later I bought a ATI Radeon 9600 Pro and this Card realy roxx!!
The drivers are good but sometimes not very stable. I noticed some crashes and systemfreezes in the last days while playing Call of Duty. a patch was released from ATI and now it works. Others works fine.
Notice that a ATI Card is cheaper and brings you more power! So, whats your chioce?
Cheers
Mike
