Looking for bootable backup system on USB-drive

Hello everyone,

I bought a new laptop and wanted to back up the delivery status with my Acronis backup software (true image on emergency media - USB stick) before(!) the first start of the computer. Unfortunately, this no longer works because of UEFI mode, or if I create a new USB drive medium, I can start the backup tool, but there is no mouse support on the computer, which makes it almost impossible to use. I have already used the tips from the knowledge base and tried out some Linux start parameters (but I am not a Linux user). Well, none of it worked anyway and since Acronis has changed its license policy, I will not upgrade to a current version.

So my question is: Can anyone recommend another backup solution that I can use to create an emergency medium (USB drive) that will hopefully work with an OMEN laptop from HP? There may even be freeware that can do this.

I would be happy to receive tips.
Merci

You may try MiniTool Partition Wizard
I used it to migrate my system to other devices successfully

I'm not sure I completely understand what kind of result you want and certainly don't know much about new machines (only use old ones!). However, maybe you could look at Clonzilla. it's free and works well - I've used it many times when changing hard drives.

Thank you both for the tips.

RASHAD, the MiniTool seems to me to be more of a tool for just managing disks and not for creating (compressed) backups of disks into a single backup file.

Deeproot, the result I expect is a compressed backup file containing all data and the geometry of the backed up hard disk(s). In case of a data problem on the hard disk, you should then be able to restore the entire computer or its hard disk(s) by restoring from this file.

I also posted this request in the German forum yesterday and they also recommended the CloneZilla tool. They also recommended RescueZilla, which is based on CloneZilla and comes with a GUI.

RescueZilla does not create a single backup file from the backup, but a directory with about 20-30 files in it, but it can compress, has an intuitive interface and, above all, the mouse pad on my laptop works with it. That was the problem with my old backup software.

I will stick with RescueZilla because it can fully replace my old TrueImage software.

That sounds excellent to me! I had not heard about RescueZilla and I will definitely be looking at it! Thanks for the tip :)
