i think you can use wine to run like in windows.

my wine version doesnt work with ms-console

i wrote a smal gui , now it works

and..the newest assimp converter from ogre sdk wont work
just polygon-balls

Are you using AssimpConverter or OgreAssimpConverter from this** link?
