Hope you all are safe and well. What's happening there is a shame.

It's a shame from both sides, from what I know. Don't know if racism is such a big problem in France (maybe sobeone from there can enlighten me), but burning 1900 cars and burning kindergardens and schools surely slnt make it better.

Interesting times. But no different from our very short human history.

When the simplest of laws is tossed aside, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.", chaos becomes the only law.

The unfortunate police shooting has nothing to do with smash and grab of iPhones or toppling cars or burning buildings. It is chaos and the government response is telling.

Macron believes teens are overwhelmed by video games and free access to social media.
Is that what you think?

France is beautiful , if your news channel tells you that it is being destroyed change news channel. Riots are happening but I just walked from the arch de triumph to the Louvre without any problems.
liberte!
or as we say in the USA let freedom ring!
Happy 4th of July, for those who truly know what freedom is. (hint: it is not AR15s)

In GB we see our freedoms being eroded, particularly freedom of speech, as British culture may be "offensive" to immigrants. It seems there is nothing about British culture the authorities won't sacrifice in order to ingratiate themselves with those of an alien culture who've arrived on our shores.

This is a prime example, we now have a de facto blasphemy law that was introduced by death threats. France has suffered this way too with the murder of Samuel Party.

I don't think it's only France where tensions are simmering, there are lots of places in Europe that could be set off by some random event.

Assuming we use logic in our programming activities, I am puzzled why logic is not extended to other actions?

The creation and maintenance of a free state has always demanded weaponry.
The creation and maintenance of a despotic state has always required disarming its subjects.
Freedom without weaponry is an illusion.

Mass migration from failed, corrupt states does not solve the problems left behind.

If you continually elect people who tell groups of people that they are victims and there is nothing they can do to remedy that, you are a stupid voter.
If you continually elect people who constantly harp about gun control, but let people in power or close to power off without consequences for gun crimes, you are a stupid voter.
If you continually elect people who have presided over the blight of inner cities, you are a stupid voter.
If you continually elect people who pledge to give you things fore free, you are a stupid voter.
If you continually elect people who open the borders of your country, you are a stupid voter.
If you continually elect people who do nothing to help those people assimilate into the country's culture, you are a stupid voter.
If you continually elect people who are clearly trying to replace your vote with one more obedient to the ruling class, you are a stupid voter.
If you continually elect people who fund foreign conflict, you are a stupid voter.
If you continually elect people who fund adversaries who create biological weapons, you are a stupid voter.
If you continually elect people who claim body autonomy is paramount, but then force you to take experimental drugs, you are a stupid voter.

There is no country allowing people to hold fire arms in the top 10 democracies in the world (according to the V-Dem or the Economist) nor in the top 10 countries providing human freedom (according to the Cato Institute), nor the top 10 countries providing economic freedom (according to the Heritage Foundation), nor the top 10 happiest countries (according to the world happiness report), nor the top 10 safest countries (according to the Institute for Economics and Peace)...
There are actually very little international rankings where the U.S.A. appears in the top 10. Most mass shootings is the only one where it reigns undisputed at the very top.

I wonder why, indeed.

Using logic <> pasting biased lists.
If you read the lists, you'd find gun ownership in almost half the top countries; Iceland, Switzerland, Norway, Finland... The differences being how much paperwork required.

Guns are not religion. They are tools.
Good guys use them for peace and freedom and hunting.
Bad guys use them for theft and oppression and murder.
Stalemate is the only logical conclusion.

Surely you cannot believe bad guys will disappear when guns are removed from good guys. Please show me that list!

Why people star talking about guns? They are not allowed in France for the general population and as we can all see in the statistics, it saves a lot of lives and less violence because duh it makes it harder to kill. Common knowledge in Europe.
