How is that possible? The new post is spam, sure, but the initial post was edited to become spam too...without being noticed from the forum itself?

Easily possible. The first post was made to look legit, and then the spammer edited it later when nobody flagged it.

I don't understand why these bots can be so smart and yet so stupid at the same time. On the one hand, they somehow always manage to create an account here and sneak in semi-intelligently. But then they post such garbage in some random language that probably no one here understands, and think they can get away with it. What good does that do them?

All it takes is one person to mistakenly click their spam link and they generate money from that. A tiny amount, yes, but it all adds up when a lot of people do it.

It's a bit hard to see, but the first post last edited on Sep. 18, 2020. Also the account was years old. And the question was legit at the time. So even if a spammer has conquered the account and edited the post, the "last edited" should have shown "yesterday". That's what I don't understand.

Somebody invents a time machine and uses it to go back in time and retroactively post spam.

That was edited more than two years ago.

I should say, two times to this complex mechanism.

In a 1st time, a guy (or group) works (it's a job somewhere) to publish ads and links. It is not a bot here, but a guy which does not know the usual words of everything which needs alphabet to be constituted, and uses several tools to translate.

This guy (or group) invented a false interest : Window, title, background, color. And requested it.

"We" answered. He polluted his first post.


And, in a second time, a real bot (why not, but even no sure) detected ad link, and, in this way, added a advertising message.

I don't. But within two years someone should have marked it as spam already.
