Imported function parameter count error message

Hello everyone,
I'm experimenting with GTK under Linux and I have some trouble with the imported instructions. From time to time the compiler or the linker is telling me that instruction are being called with the wrong parameter count.
Would it be possible for the compiler or linker to tell us that such instruction has x parameters message instead of the wrong parameter count.
