PureBasic Portable 1.55 (win)

Post by Jeromyal »

Extract multiple versions of PureBasic from PureBasic installers you have downloaded from Fantaisie Software.
Run extracted versions in Portable mode.
Fixes annoying editor dpi bug so mouse opens and closes the tools tab if you have it set to autohide.
Options to clean recent files and recent project file links.
Auto builds the compiler list of extracted versions in the Additional compilers list.
Installs its own project files so you can "Whatever"
And more.
Can possibly make you feel warm and fuzzy.

v1.55

Can also list installed versions on the system. You an then launch this in portable mode or use the drop down menu to select a profile to have it continue to use your User\Locals

Feel free to use it, improve it, add to it.

Just some debugging and code maintenance.

Thanks for your work, but I personally have no need for such a tool, hence no feedback from me. Don't let the lack of replies from others deter you.

Now there is version 1.5
More debugging was done. I believe I fixed a crash that would happen when run from slower devices.
More source code cleaning and organizing.
Made it so you can just copy the single exe to a thumb drive, launch it and start installing your downloaded PureBasic installers.
Tried to make it as simplified as posable.
I recommend installing 5.73 x86 because its project is setup to compile with that compiler.
Enjoy

Unfortunately it's windows only.

Such an app would be interesting for macOS Apple Silicon compiler and Intel compiler...

I am to provide the public with beneficial shocks.

Yes, I don't have Apple anymore. I am hoping there is someone with Mac and/Or linux that could make it cross platform. Not sure what can take place of the innounp.exe installer extractor if any actually would be needed for the other platforms.

Being I now have the project files extract from the exe I guess someone interested can request me to put up only the project files for them to download if they can't execute the exe itself.
I am sorry, I do wish I was in the position of knowing how to make this cross platform for you.

Re: PureBasic Portable Multi-launcher 1.6.4 (win). Enjoy

1.6.5 is now available. Cleaning and debuggering hath been done. Trying to prepare it for possible future additional tools.
All installs that it launches will automatically have the dpi bug fixed by simple environment variable inheritance. This is something that pleases me greatly.

I am glad you find it useful.
1.6.6 is now available. It only adds the ability to turn off the DPI patch for future editors that might work without it.
Turn it on or off as needed before launching a chosen release.
Also, an option is added for it to always open its panel at launch before opening an editor if you rather that instead of holding CTRL when you want it to open at launch.

Re: PureBasic Portable Multi-launcher 1.7 (win). Enjoy Fixes editor dpi also!

I felt the need to add Fantaisie Software TAC before extractions from any PureBasic installers.
This is in Version 1.7.0
I also fixed up the text a little bit to make more sense and protect Fantaisie Software a little better because before
the wording was off and had a loophole.
I hope this is okay Fred and Company? If you wish for me to change it back, or remove it completely, please let me know.

Thank you :!:
Personally, I find it useful... this... very useful! Currently I do it manually and I always mess up on something.

As a suggestion, that the names of the installations could be standardised.

Currently they are decompressed as the name of the installer:
f:\Purebasic\(0q3f4x)_PureBasic_4.61
f:\Purebasic\PureBasic_Windows_beta_X64_6.00_(7yjkxu)
...
Is it possible to add a renaming such that "f:\Purebasic\PB4-61-x32", "PB6-x64", .... ?

PS: I know I can rename the original installation file beforehand, but if it wouldn't be too much work, I'd better automate it!!! :D

I am unsure how that could be happening. do you try to launch it with an editor already running? is this when holding CTRL to open the panel?
You could try downloading it again and give it a try., Please let me know if that solves the problem. If not please any details you could give me I will try to get to the bottom of it.
Oh soon as I posted a reply the animation started working. it is very fast and hard for me to see. could you do still screen shots instead.
