Bored again...

So I'm back to staring at my keyboard, ohhhkaaaay...
And of course it's zero once again that has my attention. It occurs to me that zero is not actually a number but an absence of a number. Zero is to numbers like black is to colours, ie, an absence of colour. Except it isn't. Black is, well, "black" because it absorbs all colours and reflects none. So maybe zero has another identity, thus far unrecognised. Maybe zero is a thing that will eventually absorb all other numbers, like a black whole sucking up everything around it. Spookily, if you ask the average person to sketch a hole then I'd bet my underpants that they would draw an empty circle (I challenge anyone who says I'd lose that bet, think about it). Now, the big question about the absence of anything, about a "hole" in other words, is this: does a hole exist? At this point I have a dilemma... I know what I think but what do YOU think? I don't want to influence your answer so before I give you my answer I'm going to count to ten, using my keyboard as a reference of course, so as to give you time to think...
1.2..3....4........5................6................................7................................................................8................................................................................................................................
gulp! Where did nine go!!!
