now the name has changed :)

"Thorins World" is now "The Awakening Of The Dark Queen", a sequel to "Thorins Quest", but the gameplay is platformer/jumpnrun:

That's cute. I like these jump and run types more than a flat 2d game. And it keeps my older fingers agile, more so than typing.

Looking forward to it coming out.

There wasn't much time at the moment, but:
Here is a first look at "The Awakenig Of The Dark Queen"

This "first look" is mainly used to identify problems with a wide variety of systems.


The system requirements are based on "Thorin's Quest", since the foundation is the same engine.

At least:
Intel i5, 4GB RAM, free space on HDD 200MB,
Windows 10 (11)
Controls: Controller (Gamepad), (XBOX (Series) (Elite) Gamepad)

To end conversations with NPC, press key "B" + direction away from NPC.

Ax can only be thrown if a direction is given.

Game saves automatically.


Keyboard is not supported for gameplay.
Keystrokes:
CTRL E = program is terminated immediately
Furthermore, all key entries are accepted as shown on the screen, there is no official support for keyboards, as the entries do not always lead to the desired results, so running and jumping with keyboard entries is only possible to a limited extent and not possible on all keyboards.

Known bugs:
Opponent sprites can sometimes "get stuck"
Positioning evaluation of player / world are "hotfixed"

Pressing the "X" key on the start screen leads to an error message.
If the screen remains dark after the requester has confirmed, press the "B" key. The start screen should then be displayed again.

Player Sprite can "cling" to walls

Many bug fixes ..., a particularly persistent bug that was temporarily fixed with hotfixes, has been removed.
The position of the player character and the related interactions, such as various displays, have been fixed.

Now the player position and the related interactions should be displayed correctly.

Fixed an issue where enemies could get stuck in level objects.

"Vally of Silence" level has been completed.

Another name change...,

The setting, especially in the intro screen, was too gloomy for me.
The music and sound effects have been standardized as far as possible.
Reset points (checkpoints) are active and working.

Bugs (Fixed)
Revised sound management.
Fixed various bugs in the object management.
Tools (Mapcreator / A42) various fixes and extensions.
