If I created a 100k file for example, a working diary application - what exactly would a user need to run it? It seems that PB requires no runtimes or anything else? Just that 100k file?

Yes, unless you're using an external file/DLL then you should be good to go!

Thanks for the reply. I tell you, I'm stunned by this language - clearly easy to understand and does everything I want it to. An amazing find.

Yep - it's very nice!

There is one exception to the "no externals" rule that I know of and didn't mention. The 3d engine, you do have to include that engine3d.dll with your app I *think*. I'm not positive because I don't use the 3D engine (or haven't yet) so I can't say for sure..

Yes, if you use any 3D engine commands 'engine3d.dll' does have to be included with your distributed exe. (This file can be found in the compilers folder in the PB folder)

P.S. Welcome to the wonderful world of PureBasic ;)

And your app size can get smaller if you use UPX to compress the executable....

The visual designer of purebasic size drops from 300K to 100K !!!
