Network problems

Hello folks!
I have a little problem and hope you can help me...
I have Network Interface Card installed (RTL 8139) but when I run 'winipcfg' only two 'PPP Adapter' are listed as network devices, the NIC is missing. What should I do?
Hardware and OS specs:
Mainboard: Shuttle AK32E
CPU: AMD Duron 1300 MHz
RAM: SDR-RAM 133 MHz 256Mb
HDD: Two 6GB
OS: Windows 98 SE
