Have you visited a web page with these images? VD_ is probably shorthand for visual designer. Maybe a very long time ago (first installation) or maybe the help viewer uses the internet explorer engine.

That does not necessarily mean IE is taking screenshots - it could be simply a file association.

Edit: In fact you can see that I.E. is catching images from web pages - this speeds-up the render of the page next time you view it.

They look like small image files, not screenshots. Never seen a Windows screenshot with a size of 1 KB.

i have not visted any webpages with these images , besides i never use Internet Explorer .

"visual designer" ... thats what i was thinking also :)
but i dont use it .

its taking screenshots of all the Gadgets ,
however, i don't never use half of them shown in the Pic above .

heres more info :
i use CCleaner about 5-6 times every day clear out junk ,
been noticing .PNG screenshots lists for about 1 year or so ,
it seems its on some kind of a cycle,
i see these .PNG screenshots in CCleaner about every 3 weeks

i tried to solve it a couple of months ago by running the Form Designer a bunch of times
while FireFox was running , even tested same thing with Internet Explorer ,
i could never force it to create these .PNG gadget screenshots :(

so i was wondering if anyone has seen this before ??

As Kiffi showed, they're just the icon image files that were cached when the PureBasic Help file was open.

i also thought about that , but why only listed about every 3 weeks ,
when i use or open the PB .CHM Help file atleast once per Day ... why .PNG images not show up everyday in CCleaner ?

SOLVED : the PB CHM help file is associated with Internet Explorer ?

Correct. CHM files are just compiled HTML files that use Internet Explorer to be viewed.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft ... _HTML_Help for more info.
