Also i have yet to see a false AV detection that took me more than 10 minutes to fix (using old vx tricks from the 90s).
And lets be real anything a hobby coder like myself can fool within minutes is probably not worth it.
Secureage Apex is detecting all of my PB compilations as malicious on virustotal.
which i find particularly annoying and unfair.
Any ideas on how to fix that particular one?

The typical victim is not the freak who tries to fight a duel with malware, harmful websites and email, but the simple and unskilled user who buys his PC in a supermarket or from Amazon.
With these victims money can be earned, the XP user who praises the PC Stone Age is neither interesting nor the desired victim of these people.
The rejection of the new, means stagnation and depression.
Since the invention of the wheel, the principle has not changed, but the design and application has changed considerably.
With the Steineit club no progressive technology is possible, that is simply a fact.

The more complex a system and the less you understand the more diffucult it is to protect - period.

How can you even protect a evolving system where not all information is available!
Its like comparing chess with poker.

I dont see how flying blind comes even close to knowing where you are and where can go.

Nevertheless, you are probably using a modern smartphone with the latest technology
and not one that is almost 20 years old like Windows XP.

And Poker has more in common with chess than you think !

Please explain: What distinguishes a good chess player from a good poker player ?

Your reasoning is illogical

There is a simple solution vs. unknown problems and bugs in new systems and ransomware criminals and all kind of other dangers. The solution is old and widely known and i have yet to hear any example where it doesnt work and the solution is simply to make backups.
Many years ago, people knew that having an up-to-date backup strategy is essential.

For the sysadmin day last week, the german heise company (a well known german IT press company) released a set for 20 euro which included a t-shirt with the text

No Backup?
No pity!

A very old fundamental and too often ignored truth. Solves unknown bugs, criminals, ransomware and many other problems!

Backups are essential.
Unfortunately, they usually only remove the threat if something has already happened.
And unfortunately they don't help against unwise behavior.

Sure, backaups are always a good idea but often the value is in the information... so restoring the data is not really the issue at all.

Life is a struggle between human stupidity and the universe. So far the universe wins.
Learning helps vs. "unwise behaviour". Backups make learning easier with lower costs. With a backup history, a mistake is a matter of maybe 3 minutes. Without a backup ... the loss can take any hight.

Never connect computers with confidential information to the internet ;)

The internet is a worldwise digital information transfer network and access to it is pretty open to anybody. And the Internet does a great job doing exactly that.

Or did i misunderstand what you meant?
