Just looking to convert an application to MAC it involves downloading quite a few zip files from the internet.

The application then sorts it out and copies the items to the correct folders.

On windows the zip downloads as a zip on the mac the zip is downloaded and unzipped it seems all in one operation.

Is this normal behaviour on the MAC?

Do you mean in a PureBasic application or within Safari? When downloading files with Safari, there is a setting (Safari --> Preferences --> Tab General --> Setting at the bottom: Open "safe" files after download). With this option set, any Archive that is downloaded from the internet is directly extracted.

I meant downloading with safari.

Thanks for the pointer just means I cannot guarantee how it will be downloaded.

This is a option in Safari, which is on by default.
Look in to Safari Preferences, on the first page, at the bottom. "open save files..."
