Hi All,
I have just downloaded the PB demo linux 32bit for a trial on my mintlinux19(64), I have run the script suggested in the checkinstall.sh
and all went well, I then navigated to the compilers folder and typed in ./purebasic and received the following
./purebasic: error while loading shared libraries: libcairo.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
looking through the search of synaptic I see libcairo2 a vector graphics package is installed, not sure if this is what cant be found

has anyone encountered this problem and solved it.

Any help appreciated

PS I'm over 64 and at the bottom of the learning curve so I hope you are patient

Hi

You should download the Purebasic 64bit to match your linux version, otherwise there are more issues to solve when running a bit 32bit version on a 64bit version of linux.

A 64 Bit Linux is not compatible to 32 Bit software out of the box. It somehow wants to force you to install the software in the same bittyness as the linux kernel itself.
