Smart phones be the future. PB doesn't support this devices.

That's been the claim for years now, but it's never happened. Smart phones are good for
some things, but not
all things. Especially for business use: desktop PCs will
never go away. Do you honestly believe an office will consist of people sitting at desks using little smart phones to do their work? Come on!
I think a lot of the problem is that people see phone apps like video editors and word processors and so on, and think they're good enough to replace desktops. They're not by
any stretch of the imagination, and
never will be. Just the screen size alone and lack of physical keyboard and mouse puts them in the joke category.

So maybe SpiderBasic is a good alternative if web-based apps fill your needs?

The smartphone plays a huge role in todays everyday life.
Most things like browsing, shopping, playing games or consuming videos/music are done on the smartphone.
I see it everywhere including workplaces (mails, meetings, presentations...).
Even the university i go to has many helpful apps in every area (mensa, library, lectures ...).

To some extent yes but who actually does any proper work on them, mines a paper weight!
I've been doing numerous projects with Raspberry PI's over the last year and
I really miss PB on them but I still use PB to prototype algorithms before converting them to c or python.
Make sure you pop in from time to time and hope it all goes well.

Yep - this right here.
If PB worked native on a pi ( or arm in general ) I could keep all my work in PB.
As it is i'm now having to look at changing my ERP system to a PHP web based system for interoperabilty.

Yes, people often mistake the phone and its screen as an office limitation.
However, I connect a big monitor and wireless keyboard and voila, mobile pc.
This is actually more desirable to some business users than having to lug around a laptop.
But, you are kinda limited to 1 monitor for most phones.
I would love purebasic support for arm pc's. But, as others mentioned, I can prototype in PB and convert to native until that happens.

Keep a computer. And you do not have to pay to maintain PureBasic software.

But is carrying around a wireless keyboard convenient? It reminds me of Mr Scaramanga in James Bond where he sits there building a gun from separate parts, instead of just carrying a real gun (
