PureBASIC for ClassicMac in the future?

Hello community,
is it possible to get PureBASIC for ClassicMac in the future?
I am using Mac a lot and I am testing RealBASIC, but it is not so smart as PureBASIC and it is very expensive to get a version for Mac and Win. So I think it is lucrative to have a programming system where I can use my sources on Amiga, Win, Linux and Mac. Do you think about a ClassicMac version for the future?
The new Mac OS X based on Linux, so that I can use the Linux version(?). Does anybody have any experience, so let me know.
Thanks and bye
Stefan

That may very well be, but the really important factor here is what processor is used and mac is not using a processor with the x86 commandset so the linux version wont work for mac. To my knowledge most if not all libraries in PB are written in hand optimized assembly, the good thing about this is that they're fast, bad thing is that portability is next to zero. I believe some libraries are written in C and should be quite easy to port to another platform. People have asked before if there's a possiblity that there will ever be a mac version of PB and to my knowledge Fred wasn't against the idea. But it's a huge task to undertake for one man, just maintaining the current platforms takes a lot of time, as can be seen by the current gap between the windows an linux version..

Yes, a good request for sure as I would love to see an OSX version of PureBasic too. Huge job for Fred (especially since he doesn't have a Mac).. I am on a mission to get him a Mac, though my first several attempts have failed!

Oh, and OSX isn't based on Linux :-)

Mach, FreeBSD, goodies from a few other OSes too.
