[PB 5.50b1] can't select ASCII compilation w older compilers

This may be considered a feature request instead of a bug but its behavior does differ from the way it functioned in previous versions.
At the very least it is a severe limitation.
On the compiler options Dialog you can't select ASCII compilation with an compiler earlier than v5.50 selected.
Thanks for your attention to this matter.

I'm a chinese, use chinese winXp ,but pb always work regular and quick when ansi.
And but why is ascii,why isn't ansi?
ascii in IDE, very easy bug show "half" chinese word!!!

thanks! user.exe not "half" chinese word.
user code is that in pb IDE only.
