Steps to reproduce

Go to Preferences - Issues
Select any issue item (eg Fixme)
Change the background color to anything but the default
Press OK and close prefs

Color not changes in editor, and seems to revert to default when going back to preferences

Press OK and close prefs

... and it should work

Here is also a link to possible interference from other color settings.

The other color settings may take precedence in procedures for instance and would have to be disabled to prevent problems. They may frustrate you until you know what is causing it.

Thank you both, it's the "Update" button that I missed.
Never thought it was a necessary action just to apply new selected colors when an "Apply" button already exists .
