Can anybody explain me about VAT in the EU?

Hi,

I receive an email from ShareIt that tell us that says:

"a new European Union regulation
that levies VAT on electronic products and services from non-EU countries
sold to private customers inside the EU.

Sellers located within the EU, as well as sales to EU corporate customers
(regardless of the location of the seller) are NOT affected by the new
regulation; everything remains as before.

Each seller must register in one country within the European Union. The
VAT rate is determined on an individual order basis and is calculated at
the VAT rate of the purchaser's local country. All tax collected is to be
remitted to the country where the seller is registered."

Does anyone have some info about it?

Thanks

ShareIt told us that from 1º of july it will starting.
It is needed that every country make and approve their own local law abotu it, but ShareIt is asking us to register in the EU as developers or something, and i want to invstigate first, thats why im asking, maybe somebody here know something about it.

@Ricardo

I also received the same info from shareit.

I also want to know what this means if customers are ordering from outside or inside the EU.

Both depends if you are in a EU country or not.

I think it will cost you money

Hi Cor,

I sent you last night en amil about this matter.

I know it will cost money, but im not sure if its a good idea to register in EU as i understand that ShareIt recommend. And when i say 'im not sure' im not telling that i think its not a good idea... i don't know which is the best solution.

The problem is, that all press releases on the EU - Homepage are in
different languages

So ... I select my language (German) and get the press releases in
english + german + french :x

But not all releases in all languages:
If one of our german minister had done something, the releases is
german. If one of france had done => france .....

If I select english as language for the homepage, I get all as english
and french ... but no german ...

Looks like the german press releases had a translation, and the frech
not :( That is not good - I have problems with english - but I can't french 8)

Taxing internet commerce.. Yeah, I think the good old boys in Washington here have been battling that out some too. That really sucks if the UK has implemented it.

All I have to do when I complain about the taxes in the US is talk to a friend of mine that lives in the UK and I always feel better!
