One question:

Why don't you develope something for PureBasic?
You have a nice design, let this community enjoy your work :D

I think it's totally disgusting that you took the source code of the PureBasic
editor, changed it to suit Blitz Basic, then pimped your Blitz Basic "editor"
here in the PureBasic announcement forums. :x Nothing to be proud of.

I tend to agree with PB. You can ask for help for your developpement, but the announcement forums is not intended to promote other products. This post will be removed tomorrow.

Arf :)

Sorry but it's not the hack of PB editor source code.

Fred, I know that you are author of PB editor
that's why I've stopped the hack to create a new one from zero
Announcement
Developed or developing a new product in PureBasic? Tell the world about it.
Perhaps I don't understand the title of this forum section. :?

Well it looks like an updated PureBasic editor... and you did say in the past
that you were updating the PureBasic editor for Blitz Basic.

It's for PureBasic apps, yes, but not for advertising apps for Blitz Basic.
Just like the Blitz Basic community wouldn't want us advertising PureBasic
apps on their forums.

I know you can create just about anything with PureBasic, but please have
a bit of moral sense and don't promote apps for the competition here if you
choose to code such apps. That's all I'm opposed to.

Just read your own words and your old posts.

Fred give us the source of the editor because he trust us, but if you say that you 'hack' the editor to make one for a competitor product... ¿can't you understand the reaction of the community?

Its not censorship its common sense!! 8)

The editor was released as GPL. People are therefore free to do with it what they like, provided they stick to the GPL (their own derivative products are GPL, maintain copyrights, etc).

If Fred only gave us the source because he trusted us, and not because he was allowing us to do anything we like with it, then the editor source should never have been made GPL.

Or Fred can always give the editor source a different lisence, since he was the original author he can remove the GPL status. I don't know if that would apply to older versions of the code which were previously only GPL.

Correct

Hmmm....

If Fred would change the GPL status of the Editor source, than it would only apply to new releases.
Old Source code would remain GPL forever.

old hack IDE

You can find the previous version which was a hack of PB editor.
I had already a discussion about GPL licence with PB and Ricardo.
And my conclusion was that I cannot continue to develop my IDE like that.

new IDE

That's why I stopped my hack in order to start another one.
The resemblance is normal since I always use the same user interface that I designed.

@PB
In the future, I would like that you stop launching calumnies against me
I'm not a robber.

I know you're not a robber -- I thought you were still developing the
PureBasic editor source -- not a new one. For that, I apologize.

Fred should definitely do this as soon as possible, and keep the editor back
in-house again. As we've seen from this thread, it's caused a lot of harm
and bad words between some of us. Not good for the community.
