Compiler crash on Linux

I'm tinkering with various Linux distros, but when I start PB IDE and try to compile whatever code, I always get this:

Image
It happens on whatever distro I try(tested 7-8 various distros). My Linux knowledge is next to zero, so I just simply start the IDE by clicking on "purebasic" file in "compilers" folder. But, according to the "INSTALL" file, it should work:
Quick Installation method:

If you do not need to use the compiler from the commandline, the quickest
method is to simply extract the purebasic archive somewhere and execute
the PureBasic IDE.
I also tried to install required libraries by typing in the terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gcc g++ libc6-dev libsdl1.2-dev libgtk2.0-dev libgnomeprint2.2-dev unixodbc-dev libgnome2-dev libxine-dev libgnomeprintui2.2-dev libxxf86vm-dev
But it doesn't help too. Could someone help :?:

Ha, when I moved PB folder to the main OS partition, the problem dissapeared! But, when PB folder is in external partition or external HDD, the compiler crashes, at least for me  It is probably related to Linux sadistic file system permissions.

I am facing the same issue.

But it works okay on Ubuntu 15.04 x64.

I didn't understand how you solved it.

What can I do?

Thanks!

Ahhh... fixed!

It crashed because the PB folder had spaces:
"PureBasic 5.31 x86" (the folder I had created)
