A decade of PureBasic

A decade of posts on this forum, that is what Rescator has.
Most of it crap, but there are a few good posts too I hope. :P

I'll be continuing though, but under this username instead. The Rescator username has been retired for good, here as well as other places on the net.

PS! If you have recently sent PMs or plan to send PMs then those will end up un-read, I changed the old account so it's now stuck in limbo for perpetuity.

Congratulations upon reincarnation! But couldn't the moderator(s) simply change your nick? I would like to do it myself, this nickname sucks :D

No, we don't change nick on the forum, it will create confusion amongst other users.

I have to agree with Fred on this, even though it kind of sucks to have to make a new account.

I know from previously that Fred had to use a placeholder username for a lot of the old users/threads and that looks really weird (what was it called... Backupuser ?).

So the negative is that I had to make a new account, on the plus side nobody else will be able to use/missuse it. :)
I do suggest that if you change (create) a new user and you know that you will no longer control your old email tied to that user that you notify Fred or a forum admin so they can lock the old user (just to avoid anyone impersonating you later).
AFAIK Google does the same with gmail, a deleted account can not be recycled/re-registered to prevent impersonation.

However...
There is one part though I wish Fred will be able to fix at some point, and that is the username for the purebasic.com download page.
For me right now it is stuck on my old email, luckily I was able to change the email and pass though, but it's still weird to login with the old email as username.
A "quick" fix would be to just allow me to login using my email instead of my username; that will just change the login front end but allow the backend to remain unchanged

Maybe Fred could adjust the joined date of your new account so it's the same as the Rescator account? That way you won't get taken for a noob and you're far from that.

I'm not too concerned about joined date or post count. Sure they boost my ego, but age and count does not reflect quality (or lack thereof).
Ideally the individual posts speak for themselves as to their quality. :)

What comes in the future? The development of PB seems paused at the moment. I am not sure but the period between the last update and today (more than 8 months) is one of the longest in the history of PB. That's a little disconcerting....

@Lebostein
In case you didn't notice: The real topic of this thread (including every post before you) is kinda different.

I like your tracker music! Good work! :D
If I am ever to release a game, maybe I'll ask you to do the music!

Yeah, that is pretty good.
I guess track 3 should now be retitled 'The Roger Hågensen'?
