My first question after I heard this:
How can I manipulate the I/Os
Or can I access port addresses in Windows 10 without any tricks?

Hi,
Easy and fast access to I/O resources vanished from Windows a long time ago with the demise of the parallel port so I have made out with USB/HID and various other devices that provide virtual COM ports.
However, devices like the PI find applications in areas that benefit from close coupled I/O so maybe MS will provide a way to break into the ring-fenced areas (pun intended).
Ideally I would be able to develop with PB on my desktop PC and download the resulting EXE into a Windows based PI... couple that with easy port I/O and I would be a very happy bunny
I have nothing against developing directly on the PI but have so much coupled to my desktop PCs that I use... not least of which are three monitors.

Why would anyone want to deal with Windows on a little device like this?
Why would anyone want to deal with Antivirus programs on a little device like this?
Good luck attaching this device through Ethernet running Windows and not catching the flu.
Obviously common sense is not so common anymore...

Well, they would have to target the ARM instruction set then, I don't see why they would bother. And yeah, you wold also need to look at horse porn for that to happen, and I don't think that is what most people would use their PI's for.
