We have our Netflix account set to two streams concurrently. About 2 weeks ago (maybe a bit less) my wife noticed that when she pulled Netflix up on the TV it was in Spanish. She changed it back to English but next time she went in the next day it was Spanish again. On about the fourth day after the first incident she tried to pull it up and got a streaming error message saying 'Too many people are using your account right now. Please close Netflix on another device first.' She was eventually able to get in and we had no issues since then other than occasional Spanish. Then today we couldn't get in at all and so we contacted Customer Service. They said our account has been used in several locations over the past 10 days, mostly in Argentina. They kicked everybody out and we reset our password, now it's ok. On the Netflix community boards there are a lot of people complaining about their language being changed to Spanish, so I wonder - has anyone heard of a fairly significant Netflix hack?

Why should anyone hack Netflix and steal userdata to use it?
If I were in your Situation, first I would check all my PC, Smartphones,... where I logged in in Netflix. Perhaps you got a Virus.

There are only a few ways a third Person could get your account:
1. You post your accountdata on Facebook, a Forum,...
2. They bruteforced your accountdata.
3. They hacked Netflix.
4. A Person has stolen the data from your home.
5. You got a Virus.

1-4 are curious, so I think it´s 5.
Same Thing, but with Origin (EA) also happens to many People.

Have you thought of contacting Netflix and asking them to check?

What kind of password did you have? If it consists of normal words it could have been "dictionary attacked". It is a simple way for hackers to get access by just testing common passwords and dictionaries against several usernames, then they will get access to several users with weak passwords. I remember doing the same in the past on another online TV site and used the account whenever I wanted to watch a show, someone probably just wanted to not have to pay and maybe shared the account with his friends too.

Admittedly, it was terrible. Six lowercase letters from the alphabet and nothing else. It's much stronger now. I'm well aware that my failure to choose a good password contributed to my problem. And sadly - not the first time

In most cases accounts are stolen by maleware installed on your system.
I strongly recomment to first reinstall your system. Once it's compromised you can't trust the maleware scanner anymore.
Then change all your passwords. Especialy of your email accounts because your email account can be used to retrieve passwords for all kind of services you use with the password recover function.
