Hi,

What kind of software is used to create things like for example this intro (game on tv).

I wont to make simpler things than this one, but can't find better examples to show what the software must be able to do.
(I suppose this is minimal handwork paintings.)

I think your best bet is to try Blender. It is a freeware, crossplatform, all-in-one monster for everything - 3D modeling, sculpting, animation, texturing, photo-realistic rendering, game creation, video editing. Lighting fast and small.
