For the past couple of weeks I occasionally get one of a few phishing sites pop-up when I'm logged into the Forum. Half of these are intercepted by FireFox. Any I have to dismiss myself sometimes take-out the PB forum with them. It seems possible that the Forum Host might have been hacked/infected in some way?

It is showing ads, and some of those are undesirable too. For example, this one is designed to 'scare' the PC User:

Since you have Firefox, your next stop is here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... lock-plus/
You know it makes sense. If you feel bad about taking money
away from Fred, just make a donation at his website instead.

I really don't mind ads in general, but I'm suspicious about some of the ads that are being displayed on the forum site - it might be that the intended ads are being replaced by less nice ones somehow.

before years i have downloaded software from daz3d. and after that i begins to suffer from ads which refers to the daz products especially the models , sometimes a pop up ads and sometime the ads are united with the pages which are mostly programming forums. so i think daz put that ads on my computer which activated only when i visit a forum so i will think it is from the forum while it is from my computer.
so i suggest when you see such an ads , use other computer to see if the ads are still there. i never saw such ads in the forum. and the one you put its picture are dangerous and will implant a million other ads and viruses on the computer.

It was not necessarily DAZ that did that -you may have had a browser app silently installed when you installed any app, especially shareware. That browser app records your browsing and makes assumptions about your interests. It then tries to match the browser ads to those interests. That is normally 'legitimate', in cohorts with Google. Try spending ten minutes on Amazon and save something to your 'wish list'. That will trigger the Amazon version of the 'shopping spy'. The Amazon effort is not malicious, but there are those that are - and plenty more that could be described as unethical, as per the one in my image. It probably does not do anything unless you click-through. FireFox is fairly good at picking-out things (Java grrr) that try to save something to your PC without prior approval.
The pop-up or pop-under efforts are far more dangerous because it is possible to click them accidentally when you were about to click something else.

Most ad services generally have bad stuff now and then tossed in by advertisers and it can be hell getting them to get the bad ads out. I have never really seen the ads on this forum, my hosts file seems to block them.
