Selecting Form Designer from the Tools Menu (or Alt+V) adds the Form Tab to the Side Panel.
That's fine, but how do you later remove it from the Side Panel?

I am not able to reproduce this, here. Only Preferences with add/remove the Form Panel.
Windows7-64 PureBasic5.2B8

....Just tried it on PB5.20beta8x64, Win7 x64.
For a start, the side panel already has 4 tabs by default (1 tab by default on WinXP x86???).
Indeed, if I remove the Form tab via preferences, selecting from the Tools Menu or using Alt-V displays a seperate form, not adding a tab to the side panel. Strange that there is so much difference between the two Windows OSs. Hopefully it is possible to add/remove tabs via preferences on x86 - I'll give that a go as soon as my 4TB backup has finished (maybe mid-December lol).

Update - Can indeed remove the Form tab via preferences - and having done so, Alt-V does not put it back. Something clearly not quiet right but at least it can be untangled easily.
