I dont know penguins well but such behavior isnt realy special for animals. They do a lot of things that some people think are reserved for humans. Some things a lot of animals do: prostitution, stealing, torturing others for fun, spoofing other animals or humans (a lot of cat's like to mess with humans).
That reads very negativly but there are also other behavior like caring for someone else, making gifts. And many more.

Let's not forget raping, something dolphins do very often.

What I find extremely interesting is not how some animals collaborate together to obtain something they won't be able to get as a single individual. That's pretty common.
It's how sometimes an animal help another at his same hierarchical level to get something without any immediate, evident gain for himself.
And later they reverse the roles. They both get something along the road, but never at the same time.
The ability to process and accept something like this is incredibly powerful.

I showed my wife the previous two videos (in order of posting). I figured she would find the second one funny because it is obviously untrue.

Instead she said, "Wow, they're like bumble bees with their huge stomachs."

It kind of broke my heart when I had to let her know, a few seconds later, it wasn't for real. :)

Astonished as I was when I first watched it, I believed it too. It was a BBC documentary for heaven's sake!

Anyway, glad to hear it amused.
