Fred,

It would be nice if the IDE would periodically check for Updates the PureBasic Program. In program updating would also be nice, but at least just a notification that a update is available.

Thanks

Randy

if this have to be implemented, i suggest that there may be an option in the IDE to enable or disable the automatic checking of updates. this gives the users more freedom in their choices .

Good idea but depending how it was implemented it may require some form of check to ensure you own the software.

How it could work
  • Show a dialog stating their is a new version available to download from your account
  • Show a dialog stating their is a new version available which then allows you to download it from the IDE and install it automatically (requires you to login from the IDE to ensure you own it before downloading the update which is a one-time process)
Notes
  • An option to disable it for the people that don't want this functionality.
  • An option to choose which type of releases you are checking for updates for (beta, stable).
