Can't reproduce that on PB5.11.

Use the formtool as extern. Create a form, add a control, set any font.
The Frontcolor of Panel is yellow with darkblue background. The external Formtool use the Frontcolor with
Default Backcolor, so you can't se anything from yellow on white
