Hi to all

Does anyone have experience with the MT6577 SoC. rooted a Lenovo A660 android phone, but had problems with recovery (android man laying on side with red exclamation mark in triangle) tried factory reset and now in wiping loop (android man with green spinning mid section).

This SoC does not support Fastboot  it uses MTK SP Tools. can get into adb. (does any know of articles/info relating to android OS system layout how recovery works some in-depth stuff to see whats happened and possible fix (softbricked i believe) ) although i have root it seem that on production OS you cant get full root SU gives segmentation fault in adb shell

any help appreciated

Zebuddi.

It`s quite easy generally. it`s just this SystemOnAChip. MT6577 documentation is hard to find for flashing. MTK tools, The flashing software has no documentation  and this SoC is mostly for the Chinese market. best thing about it, it`s my brother in laws phone

But you gotta find entertainment somewhere

Hi to All

Have sourced a full official lenovo a660 rom  soft(unbricked) phone fully working and now with official lenovo update, releif :D

If anyone's playing about with the MT65XX SoC and having problems with MTKTools aka SP Tools (SmartPhone Flash Tool) MediaTek Software, and softbricked there phone, PM me i`m willing to give what i can to help solve softbricking.

Apparently there is a trick for unbricking a bricked phone, involving stripping the phone down amd some hardware poking whilst plugged into the usb port with SP Tools running
