Forum Website facilities

Hi,

It seems that the forum does not provide for users to upload contributions to the website.

This is a pity, since contributions of assorted applications provide interest and a learning facility.

Many years ago, Kale provided a link to a Xmas program he had written - the code is still in the archive, but the graphics and sound resources are no longer available. That's sad .. and probably this applies to many older contributions with attachments.

My small contributions are just for fun - I give them away to entertain other users (mostly in another Basic so far :) )
I've been doing a number of programs and some user guides such as this for instance ..

I'm sure the site would become more vibrant if an upload facility was available .. :D

So, it may be too difficult to organise - but there's no harm in asking .. :)

Best wishes,

Graham

Yes, that is great and useful idea!

Doesn't the forum software (technically) support this already?

The forum supports the linking to files, but does not host the files, which is how so much useful stuff gets lost - the developer moves on, the website he uses changes and the links are no longer valid.

I wonder if the Host of the Fantaisie website could provide the storage space required? It wouldn't require much management, virus checking could be automatic and each PureBasic customer could upload via ftp using the same credentials used to log into the current downloads site.

Great suggestion GWS.

It would be easier than trudging through long listings.
