Most annoying things

What are the most annoying things for you, related to internet and computers? I'll start:
1. Websites packed up with Javascript, jQuery, Ajax and plethora of other hell technologies, which eat hundreds megabytes of RAM and 100% CPU.
2. Idiotic "Press Esc to exit full screen mode" note which is shown everytime you watch a Flash video in full screen and there is no option to disable it. Finally found a patcher for killing it, however, just for Windows. What is "best", HTML5 videos have the same "feature".
3. Idiotic "social" butons, littered up everywhere. Have to use a bunch of adblockers to get rid of them, but they still are popping up like zombies.
4. Opera browser, which is still my favourite, but some bugs are not fixed for 5-7 years(e.g., "Opera is still closing..." bug).
5. Purebasic's Visual Designer, which is(in my opinion) a caricature of a normal designer.
OK, thats enough

So if you have a spare minute, please share your thoughts.

Now THIS is your real reason for posting.

Assuming you talk about the new form designer.
It isn't bad at all. Yes, there are some issues with it at the moment, but it is usable. GUI programming is a pain in the butt even when working with different versions of Windows (e.g. the same code yields different results). Polo and the team has to make this one work on every Windows version + Linux + Mac. Not that easy.
So yes, it will take some time for it to reach a more stable state, but it's a good start.

Most annoying things?
My number 1: dumb people, means simple thinking people, ordinary people.
As a perfectionist (that's an illness, I know

), I don't think like ordinary people. And ordinary people don't think like I do.
That's most annoying to me. Ordinary people have a simple and quick answer to something, but they didn't think about
all consequences. So their answer is plain and simple. I hate it. It's wrong!

Ask ordinary people what they think right now: "I am thinking about the cool YouTube video I've seen yesterday" or
"I want to f*ck that b*tch" or "I am hungry, where's the next McDonald?"
More complex thinking people will answer: "Well, I am thinking about influence of floating point precision in a system
of particles interacting with each other done with PureBasic vs. Java vs. C++."
Simple thinking people, talking about the weather, are most annoying to me.

There's an old saying that says dumb people talk about other people, average people talk about events, and intelligent people discuss ideas. In my observations, it's so true. Look at people and remember this quote, and you'll see it's true.

My personal pet hates are
native English-speaking people who post to forums (not necessarily these forums) with poor grammar and punctuation. I particularly loathe the text "alot" (I'm not even going to call it a word). Since when did "alot" become acceptable? It just shows that society, in general, is stupid. There may have been smart people who saw it, but didn't bother correcting the poster, so now it's become the norm. God help us when it gets added to the dictionary, which I bet it will!
I also hate "loose" for "lose", and "plz" for "please". And people who post without periods which results in one long rambling block of text. I pine for this world, because it's turning into turd. And that's saying it nicely.
[Edited to clarify what I meant when I said "people" above. I certainly didn't mean people who have English as a second or third language).

I know I get boring sometimes, for sure. For example, with a wet-bulb temperature of -2.4C and a dry-bulb temperature of -0.8C, wind from 337 deg. at 17kmh I can't help wondering, what is the dewpoint? The relative humidity? The windchill factor? With a Stratecue ceiling of 2100m at 100% opacity would I feel safe in flying VFR rules today at the elevations encountered in my flight plan?
Aw, I'm just messin' with ya..

Hardly an illness if you ask me. There's nothing wrong in seeking perfection - as long as you don't expect to find it

.

Good point. People seem to be very susceptible to this perfected propaganda and manipulation (mostly spread and encouraged by the media). It exploits the "sheeple instinct" and makes them abandon their own thoughts in favor of "being trendy". And the ones who resist will be crushed by the means of social pressure (being portrayed as strange / insane, etc.). This definitely needs to be turned around. The first step is to turn off the idiot box and pick up a book. There's nothing better than waking up to the world around.

Of course! That's the best example of language "evolution". If you can't make some people respect the rules, change the rules. Seems to be a perfectly reasonable reaction (not).
On topic: Regarding computers, most of all I hate the the tendency of some companies to bloat their software. Or implementing technologies just because they're new (when the old framework didn't limit them in any way).

Facebook and the people who share the trivia of their lives online leaving the rest of us to wonder "why" How many kWatts of energy, DataCenters and Bandwidth is wasted documenting the lives of some of society's most useless people.

Wat u have against jabbascript?!?
I'll cut a fool for this!
/serious
Javascript/jQuery using alot of ram? Sounds like the web page is packed with pictures/media since Javascript is usually just a few kb in size. Compare it to the largest source file you have written in PB. Unless it's one of *those* pages that keep object data stored forever, but I think most browsers have a cut off limit for that kind of stuff now.
Javascript is a godsend in web development, don't hate on it

!
Everything else except #5 I agree with. I don't agree with #5 because I don't use #5 often enough to be annoyed by it.

Aw, I'm just messin' with ya..

At work there is a guy who watches YouTube videos all day (it is his hobby), and he can't stop talking and laughing about it.
So at midday break at work, 5 or 6 people sit together and 2 or 3 of them talk about the newest YouTube or
Facebook things... nearly every day.
I sit beside them, silently, thinking about programming stuff or planing what I code when I come home.

I am not interested in the YouTube and Facebook talk most of the time, and they wouldn't understand
the stuff I am thinking about. So it is like an incompatibility and they wonder why I am so silent all the time.
One guy at work is also a computer freak, and from time to time we talk about it. Other colleagues smile then
sometimes or look confused because they just can't understand what we are talking about. We are like aliens at this moment.

Of course that's not always the case, we talk also about every-days life things that everybody understands.

I can change my IQ in just two seconds? That would cut so many of my problems.

I hate really bad programmed websites, programms and games,
too. But why should i hate C/C++ because of really annoying bad
programmed games?
2. Idiotic "Press Esc to exit full screen mode" note which is shown everytime you watch a Flash video in full screen and there is no option to disable it. Finally found a patcher for killing it, however, just for Windows. What is "best", HTML5 videos have the same "feature".
You should stay on YouTube, it just displays it a few seconds.
3. Idiotic "social" butons, littered up everywhere. Have to use a bunch of adblockers to get rid of them, but they still are popping up like zombies.
Annoying is the possibility to track you with this kind of buttons ...
even when you are not registered or logged in ... i really doesn't
want to know what they do with all the informations.
4. Opera browser, which is still my favourite, but some bugs are not fixed for 5-7 years(e.g., "Opera is still closing..." bug).
Opera is crashing nearly every day since 12.1x ... i hope they can fix it somehow.
5. Purebasic's Visual Designer, which is(in my opinion) a caricature of a normal designer.
I dislike harsh criticism without any constructiveness. Polo does what
he can and if he will not stop working on it, it will be soon a really
nice tool. Just post any bug-reports and/ or feature-requests

I'm still working on the designer caricature, and so are Fred and Timo

Anyone remember all those Warez sites from the 90's that did stupid shit like fade through every color of the rainbow before the whole damn page would even load?
