EDITED:
Hi @ all,
i am a big fan of cinema/movie-trailers and i want to collect and burn all trailers to CD. I only special me on WindowMediaFormat trailers due fact this can be played in any DVD player too. When i try to save a movie which is playing in MediaPlayer it will only save a very small file with the streaming adress but not the film itself...
Has someone of you any knowledge how it could be done? I heared that there are any tools available (even if the trailer is stream only) but havent found something yet... Thanks!

Always open these .wmx files into a hex editor, and you may see the
full URL of the actual file inside. In this example, the full URL for the
trailer is:
http://www.vollverheiratet.de/trailer/v ... iratet.wmv
Remember to "Save Target As..." instead of just clicking this URL!
If the hex editor trick doesn't work, then download "Streambox VCR"
from this page, and it is usually good at downloading such files:

I you played some video on your PC it must be stored in internet temp dir, you can find it there and drag it to another folder and change the name (usually in the temp folder has a numerical name).

Not in all cases, though.

Hi ricardo,
i know about the temp dir and as PB said, it does not work all cases! It works as long as you dont have any livestreams like cinema movies from there servers.
Hi PB,
many thanks for your help and link to the great tool - works very fine now

THX!
