This might be a unusual request but i need someone that lives in the US to buy something for me of eBay.com.
The seller does not sell to people outside of US and i live in germany.

The item is a very rare computer game i am searching for years. And finaly it shows up on eBay.com and the seller refuses to sell it to me, because he had bad experience with buyers from outside of US. This is so frustrating.

Thats how it works: You bid on it a amount i will tell you. You pay him, get it shipped to you. I will pay you the auction price + shipping to you + shipping to me + 50 USD for your work. You send it to me.

All details on which auction it is and how i will pay you please via PM.

This is a serious request. I am a computer and video game collector and this is the last piece to complete one of my sub collections, i am actualy searching for years.

I'll help if the seller will ship to Canada. Maybe you could pm me the link to the auction and I'll find out.

Thorium, on ebay you pay the item in advance, so the only problem for him should be if you'll give him a negative feedback because for example the item get lost after shipping (or "so you say" he's probably thinking). Have you offered to pay a little more for a trackable shipment thorough a first class courier like DHL ? DHL take even care of all the custom's fee and you pay those directly to DHL later or to the person who physically makes the delivery.
This should put his fears to rest.

Or maybe Fedex or UPS.

I live in Italy so I cannot help you. :)

I dont know whats happend exactly to him. Maybe a buyer has filed a dispute for a damaged item or something like that. So he got his money or part of his money back.

The big problem with this seller is that he deactivated the messaging. So i cant ask him anything. If i try eBay tells me this seller can not answer my questions.

Do you still have the original packaging from when you first bought it? If so, you can probably download it somewhere, and it wouldn't be piracy because you own it and can prove it. Or, if you did give us the name, one of us might already have it and give it to you. I have plenty of old PC, C64, and Amiga games; some back to 30 years ago.

Maybe he only accepts PayPal, in which case he could easily be screwed. My bro-in-law sold something overseas once. He shipped it, the guy signed for it, then he lied and told PayPal he never got it...paypal gave him his money back, removing it, of course, from the sellers account. There are a lot of people who do not have a moral issue with theft.

I never had this game. And i want it for my collection not to play it. As the NES punk said it: "It can never be played, dont even look at it." ^^

It's realy rare the chances onyone here has it are very slim. I will tell the name if the auction ends, which takes a few days.

If anyone wants to just give me games. I am primarily searching early RPG's for Apple ][, TRS-80, PET and any other Computer of that time.

I am especialy searching for:
Beneath Apple Manor 1978 and 1980 editions for Apple ][
any early Synergisic Software RPG (i have almost all of them but most in poor condition)
Akalabeth 1st California Pacific Edition (the one with the castle on the cover)
cover sheet only of Akalabeth 2nd California Pacific edition (the one with the demon on the cover)
cover sheet only for 1st edition Ultima
Temple of Apshai 1st edition for TRS-80
Morlocs Tower 1st edition for TRS-80

Some of them like Akalabeth are actuaky worth some money and i would pay for them.

That is absolutely true and it happens way too often - Ebay + PayPal are just too lazy to sort things out properly.

However, the Seller could have exactly the same issue in the USA - unless the Buyer lives nearby, you have no chance of challenging the thief in person so it does not really matter if the buyer is abroad.

Reminds me of the hilarious Big Bang Theory episode where they went on the quest to retrieve Sheldon's stolen game stuff.

Penny: "Here, let me show you how we go on a quest in Nebraska."

Penny: "Well this is your lucky day! A girl is going to touch you in your little special place!" ...BOOT
