This looks really interesting.. Especially for those who may be hobbyists and want to release their work for free, hoping for donations or something.. Although I'm not so sure about their Terms, some of it is confusing.. If i read it correctly it almost sounds like you have to actively donate to other sites, or they will jack a percentage of your own donations..

Can anyone who speaks legaleese give an opinion on their terms of use?

Found that page (was kind of hard to?) I think it makes more sense now... So I could set it up to charge me $5 a month and if I flattr 10 people or 100 people, it doesn't increase the fee, it just divides the money between that many more people.

Interesting idea.... but I'm going to be a downer and say I don't see this getting very popular at all.

It's a paid subscription (small, I know) just to make donations to developers (or whomever) that happen to also be on this service? Odd.

Sure it's a mild inconvenience to log into Paypal or similar, to make small donation to someone.... but isn't it MORE cumbersome to sign up for a subscription service, which you also need to log into each time (or at least keep your browser cookies for months), which probably also keeps track of your browsing?

That being said, there's no problem with including this in addition to more "standard" donation methods on a website.

It's got scam written all over it. Behind the scenes, the person behind this operation may well be pocketing most of the money. Why is there a need for it anyway?

It has been a big topic in the German (European?) online "scene" (newspapers, web shows, app developers etc.) already about 1 year ago. In times of ad-blockers etc. it simply allows us users to give something back.
I think it's basically a good idea, however e.g. the subscription few (although very low) holded me back from even joining it...
