Why does PB always open a new document?

Hi,

the Purebasic IDE always opens a new document if the last opened document will be closed. For me it is often very annoying. A new option to disable this "feature" would be highly appreciated :-)

Best regards
Uwe.

How can that possibly be annoying? After all, if you proceed to open an existing file, the new document is closed automatically.

If the IDE open without any Tab, that looks very bad  ,
and as trond say, this tab is closed automatically if you don't use it and open
another file.

Why does PB always open a new document?
The answer is simple:

To make live easier :D

So you don't have to open a 'new' one manually.

Hi,

yes, the new document will automatically be closed if another file will be opened. That's good! Unfortunately it does not work with projects, e.g. you have a project opened and closed the last document, then a new document appears, but if you now open a project related document from the project tab by double-clicking the file, the new tab remains open. It should be closed as well.

Best regards,
Uwe

That sounds annoying. I think it's better to close the new document in this case as well, rather than never opening a new document.
