The Manual was last updated for PB 2.30 which was back in May 2001.

I really would like to see that fixed before I jump in to PB.
Having a .chm is nice, however printing that out is a bit of a pain. If it were in a Word doc, we could print exactly the parts we want, shrink the fonts, etc.

Any chance of the -current docs being made available in Word format?

I'm afraid I have to agree. Although the online help is marvelous, a printable version (PDF Format would be best, as it's the defacto standard) would be welcome. You can do things with a printed copy that you can't do with onlie help (read it on the way to work, in the bath etc...

Perhaps this is where someone could help out. CHM files can be decompiled, or if Fred prefers, he could supply someone the source documents - It shouldn't be too difficult to convert this to PDF.

Using Microsft's HTML Help application, you can decompile the .chm file. However, you are then left with 50-60 folders for each of the individual categories with several 1-2KB .html files for each command.

Someone must have the -current .doc file before it is converted to .chm, so I agree making a .pdf would be pretty sweet for those of us who do not like to study.learn off of the monitor.
I -really- do like just sitting and reading, maybe I'm just odd.

Of course, if we had the uptodated .doc file, we could also make some sort of ebook for those of us with PDA's !

I'd be happy to take that on.

I have/use a product called 'help and manual' that can make/decompile chm,hlp and others and can make pdf files out of them. I converted the PureBasic manual and it's 1.3meg uncompressed and around 480K compressed asa RAR file (if you need it).

Using the default settings and document template, it converted the file pretty well. Email me if you need it.

Currently german users are helping to update/correct/extend my german PDF manual, made for the Topos version. Anyone, who is interested to convert it to english/other languages?
