Recommended texts for Cocoa development...

Hi,

will soon be buying an apple Mac (need to save a few more pennies first!) and am wondering if someone can recommend a good introductory text for Objective-C and Cocoa development? Something I can read before taking delivery of the new machine; so something quite easy going by way of a gentle introduction please! :)

Have never used a Mac before and am looking forward to it.

Thanks.

Stephen.

"Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X" written by Aaron Hillegass is a good book (it was for me).

I'm curious how you will look at Cocoa and Objective-C once you have read the book.
To me a lot of things make more sense compared to the way Windows handles things.

I like them already (based upon what I've learned on the web) and I haven't even gotten my grubby filthy hands on a Mac book yet! God's they are expensive... will have to go and offer myself up for some more medical experiments I reckon in order to raise some more funds!

Still my old laptop (a 15+ year old thinkpad) is probably past it's best-before date now anyhow and so I am due a new laptop! A Xmas present to myself... damned if I'm buying any prezzies for anyone else anyhow bah humbug!

I'm not a great fan of Objective C today (I liked the concept when was born), you have to type A LOT, really A LOT.

Well, less than to force objects down PB's throat I'll give you that :)

But probably it's only a question of getting used to it...
