In the next few days I will be moving the PureBasic forums (and my other sites) to a brand new, .NET based clustered server. In theory, this should mean improved performance as well as other benefits. Unfortunately, this procedure will incur a downtime of between 12 and 48 hours while the DNS entries are updated worldwide. I will be taking the forums down during this period, to ensure we do not lose any topics/posts.
Fred: Is tomorrow at 13:00 GMT Ok with you? I'd like to migrate to the new server as soon as is possible.

BTW: I'm currently looking at a new PHP based forum and a MS SQL Server back end. More news as I have it...

To anyone wanting support during that period: if you have an IRC chat
program (eg.
http://www.mirc.com), then you can chat in the following channels:
Servername: irc.freenode.net
Port: 6667
Channel: purebasic (english)
Channel: purebasic.de (german)
Naturally this applies to all times, and not just when the forum is
down. Hope to see you there!

http://www.kdawebservices.com and similar? I use KDA and for £10/month and it worked out a lot less expensive than any other solution I could come up with (and that was 2 years ago)

Edit:
Or better yet, you can leave a ghost page here when you take this server down with a link to the new server using the IP instead of the domain name in the link so the down time will be very much smaller?
