I just signed up to see how it goes... I was a bit hesitant at first,
thinking it was an e-mail harvester for spam, but it seems real.
An interesting note is that my current web hosts, ProHosting, are no
longer showing banner ads on my site, even though I haven't paid for
them to be removed this year. Maybe this is due to competition from
these new bannerless sites? Who knows.

Unlimited space and unlimited bandwidth does not exist. Imagine what would happen if you suddenly uploaded 20Gb of stuff and had Gb of transfer per day.
I can imagine this being like the "unlimited" internet access that so many of the UK ISP's provide. If you use it more than they can afford to give away, they kick you off. Especially since you are not dealing directly with the hosting company, but a reseller, who are at the mercy of the real hosts.

Tinman,
They do limit you to 300MB for your site and unlimited bandwidth. But what I don't get is how would they make ANY money at all. There bussiness model can't possible last for a long time.
PB,
Thanks for the udate let us know how it is going. I was wondering about there speed.

True. They appear to be a small company with naive ideas about web
hosting. I reckon they'll stop the service in the near future.

Well, I don't seem to be able to upload any big files. I've tried
three times today to upload a 2 MB file and it keeps failing, and
looking at the site shows that the upload didn't succeed. Maybe
they have a file size limit? If so, that would explain why they're
free: 300 MB of space but only 1 MB per file size?

If you look at the freeola site, they are the ones who give you unlimited space, and one of them (can't remember which) claims unlimited file sizes.

I only used them cos they allow users to run their own perl scripts, which I use for download tracking and page logs.
Anyway, checkout http://www.port5.com, I`m moving to them..plus they allow PHP too (no more yucky perl for me)
I`ve got space provided by ProHosting too...and a couple of days ago they sent me an email demanding a "one time fee" of $10, or my site will be deleted within 14 days.Originally posted by PB
