Hi,

We have here (France, the country who just escaped from that extrem right
jerk ...) a stupid law which say that if you have a TV set you have to pay
a yearly tax (supposed to fund the TV stations), I just use my TV to watch
videos (from DVD or VHS readers), is there a cheap way to do that with a VGA
monitor ? (all the videos are in PAL format and I have both a SCART and a
S Video output on both readers).

You can use a graphics card with input
(i use my Amiga without monitor this way:
Amiga-Output -> PC graphics card IN)

If you dont have a graphics card with input,
you should get a TV card for your PC.
I have a "Hauppauge WinTV Radio", so i can
look TV and hear Radio with my PC.

There are also TV-boxed available to use
a PC Monitor as TV, but this boxes are
IMO too expensive.

btw if this makes you feel better, here we pay the public channels with
the electricity bill i.e. if you wand electricity you pay for public tv also

I saw a very cheap scandoubler espacialy for PSX1/2 to connect it to a VGA Monitor. It was distributed by a PSX Supplier and it was much cheaper then
other Scandoublers I saw before.
