I wonder if Windows Phone 7 can run on the cheap low end candybar phones that Nokia sells all
over the place?

The Chinese seem to use an OS called MTK platform 2, that can run Java 2 apps and games, and runs on anything from low end nokia killers to iphone 4 clones.

Many of those cheap Chinese MTK phones only have around 4mb of RAM, good luck playing a Java game with that.

They run Java games just fine. You can switch to engineering mode and increase the java cache as well. *#82043036#
