Trying to port an old application over to PB. Don't want to
mess with the user's mind much after the conversion.

The old app sets the active StringGadget to a light yellow
upon focus. When it loses focus, it is returned to a
white backgound like the entire form.

Other special items have their background set to red as a
warning feature.

So a form might have 20 StringGadgets. The current focused
gadget would have a yellow background. Other gadgets may have
a red background (which is a special situation indicator) or
have a normal white background.

The users are very accustomed to this feature and I am hoping
to be able to duplicate it.

Any advice appreciated.

I'm also waiting for this to be included in PB.
I have seen some examples with callback procedures....nothing for a normal (non API) user i think.
Fred should put this as command in PB.

In GB32, it goes like this.

Thanks for your reply Benny.

I am disappointed that this ability isn't built into the
PB gadgets. Hopefully Fred will find the time to expand
the StringGadget to include the additional features soon.
I really need it.

Using the API commands is not something I know how to do.
I am sure they allow for the color and other features,
since most other languages include them.

The other solutions using callbacks, etc. just leave me
confused and I have not been able to make it work for me.
