Hi,

I have some website in a linux server with apache, mysql, php, etc.
Its NOT on my own PC.

I never use mySQL and i want to know if there is some way to connect directly to mySQL to create a database and get values from it from a PB application and how to do it.

I want to do some application that let the users store and retreive from the database some simple info (just name, address, homepage url, icq number, etc) and then they can search for another user in this database and retreive the info about this other users ¿its possible to do it?

Best Regards

I read that the server$ parameter is used to connect to a database in other server, but now i cant find this parameter since help files says:

Result = OpenDatabase(#Database, ODBCDatabaseName$, User$, Password$)

You have to define an ODBC entry. First, get a mysql ODBC driver at http://www.mysql.org and then open the COnfigPanel/ODBC windows tool and setup your DB (server, port, password etc..). Save it under a name and use this name in PB. I use it everyday to access my mysql db for PB website.
