Thanks - for the comment AND the inspiration ! I'm thinking about adding a few new features, one being to allow visitors to sign up for a daily broadcast of
the day's image directly to their cell phone or email. Another being a calendar to view a particular day's image instead of just randomly. If you don't mind
answering, what do you think of the site's design / layout ?

Sometime in the coming week or so, you will be able to send the current day's 'WTF ?!? Photo of the Day' directly to your cell phone from the website via MMS. At first, this will only be available to users in the USA, but carriers from other countries will be added over time. I'm working on creating an SMS/MMS app using PB also, but I like to make sure the bugs are worked out on the website first to make the PB version's development go smoother. I'd appreciate it if those of you who live in the states would test it for me before the feature goes live. Just contact me by PM if you want the link to the test page.
Thanks.
[edit] I forgot to mention that Alltel, AT&T, Boost Mobile, Centennial Wireless, Cingular, Cricket Wireless, Metro PCS, Nextel, Qwest, Sprint, T-Mobile, Tracfone(pre-paid), US Cellular, Verizon and Virgin Mobile are the only supported carriers as of now.[/edit]

Edit #2
Also, for those of you who might want to know - your mobile # is NEVER logged or saved to the server ! It is just passed to a PHP script to determine the proper message routing.

A friend just pointed this out to me. Apparently, the website made it on the
Huffington Post website a while back !

Sure, but a lot of url shortening services out there leave you with no way of knowing where the shortened link will actually take you to. I, and many others, simply REFUSE to click on such links. I see this isn't the case with the service you pointed out, but it is still not good to get in the habit of clicking on such links !

I would have to agree with this as I am one of those. Unfortunately, URL redirects have gotten a bad rap. It's another case of a legitamate idea that bad people have taken advantage of. In any case, you can do your own redirects without using any URL shortening service and have it look like any other normal URL.

why not put that long link inside the url-tags ?
this way the
'hint' is short but the full adress is still available /detectable.
I can see link-addresses in the statusbar of my browser when hoovering over them, otherwise I may copy the link location by contextmenu to examine it.

WTF ?!? Photo of the Day - Complete Site Redesign

I've redesigned the site to give it more visual appeal - it's much cleaner now. I'm still having a
slight problem with the MMS feature though.

It works as it is intended to except that when
the script is called I end up with a blank page instead of staying at the original HTML page that
calls it. If anyone here is familiar with PHP coding and is willing to help me out with this, PM
me.
Thanks.
[edit] Never mind ... I found the problem and fixed it !

Actually, the site had on average about 300 uniques/day until I let the site die due to lack of time. Almost 1500 signed up to have the daily photo sent to their cell phones !
