Is it me or does anyone else think that the x-factor is totally crap, the judges do nothing but heap praise onto every contestant with very, very little criticism every being given.

It's only on here because the wife is watching it, but I'm in the same room and the program is driving me mad. :x :x :x

Just my opinion by the way.

I believe that you are just sat there watching it through choice... Those of us who genuinely don't watch it don't know what the hell you are on about :P

I have no respect for any musician, band or entertainer who didn't make it on their own.
This includes singers who need a stage of other people to do the performance with them.
That's why I can't stand boy bands, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, and shows like X-Factor.

Only real self-made entertainers get my respect: the Beatles, the Doors, KISS, Rammstein,
and even the other end of the spectrum like ABBA, and the Carpenters. They all play their
own instruments and/or write and perform their own material.

I quite enjoy X-Factor in the early stages (the nutters audiions) bu as soon as it gets to the selections, I can't be bothered.

Basically crap TV for wannabe's - enjoy it for what it is, but don't mistake it for a talent show.
A freak show, a sympathy show, not a talent show ;-)

Well, I think it's a show of good entertainment otherwise no one would watch it.
People - either good looking or somehow strange - doing something uninteresting, with a little background story here and a little crying family members there... Always the same on every (casting) show and it just works.

Trust me, I wasn't watching it out of choice.

You're right about the auditions, some of that is funny but it's just the judges during the actually shows that drive me mad.

Anyway, it's off now for another week. I'll have to arrange for something better to do next saturday, maybe watch some paint dry or something. :)

Xfactor, Masterchef, Junior masterchef, Australian Idiot, Big Brothel, etc generally all these rubbish 'reality' shows are all simply banned on my TV.
That is an easy fix suggestion for you Derek...

In America you don't need to worry about these shows because there we get 7 minutes of commercials every 4 minutes. :?

Sounds a bit like 'no nookie' for Derek for a while.......
Worth it though for the money you will save by not wasting power to run a TV displaying that rubbish :)

Then why the dislike for LadyGaGa? I am not fond of her music, but as a musician myself, I have a lot of respect for her because she does write her own songs and she is a very talented piano player.
