Well thats usability engineering

- involve the customer at every point in the lifecycle, but let him pay 1 to two million euros for it.

That's why it's best to set a decent fixed price for the design and layout, any changes after that, will cost enough so it's worth having the customer ruin the design with their "brilliant" ideas.
