I promised to donate when the seriallib was working on Linux. Now it has worked in the most resent versions so i don't have to change anything in my code when compiling for i.e windows :D :D :D

So then i have donated 50$ and i suggest that other people donate a small amount for whatever reason.

I always try to send beer and pizza money to the team every time a new version is released.

Still need to do that for v4.40...

Done now!

I donated 30$ December 25, so I'll skip this time. But I do encourage others to donate! :D

And when talking about donation, if you have money to share please consider this too (Disaster Relief in Haiti):

I gave each of them 40 dollars.

Hi
Yes last time I donated it didn't fell through because Visa did not accept
my credit card registration. Now is a good time to try again. PB has become
really good through out the years. You get a lot for a very good price

As for Haiti, no, I do not donate anything through the regular channels !
If you want to know why, then see this video report :

Watch this video report at your own risk !
If I donate it will be to restarting local soho's.

Yes. I promised the same for when the 2D-Lib was fully working on Mac OS X. It is now, as it seems :P

I put 20 € in an envelope via PayPal. Keep up the great work, PureBasic-Team!!

Thank you for the effort... 8)

It's really nice to see not only the developers of the programming language but its users as well helping make Purebasic grow.
This kind of support is priceless.
I donated last year and will do it again this year. :)

I will not donate a dime to them, ever, and I advice the rest of you not to donate either.

Their business model is free updates for ever, period, and they know what is best for them.

Period. :)

Has been discussed before.

 The donations here are different though, since the team doesn't beg for them.

That's pretty pathetic when a person is so tight fisted and mean that they won't show any appreciation to anyone that does something nice for them like provide a fine product at a reasonable price.

I'm the kind of mean that I'd chase customers like that out of my business with a baseball bat. I don't want those types of customers.

So you do not want customers who would pay for your product and use it under the terms agreed to at the time of sale? Instead you would prefer to have customers you can guilt or strong arm into "donations" for future releases. That almost sounds like the "protection" racket:

"Hey, just because you bought my product that means nothing. You better show some more "appreciation" or I am coming after you with a baseball bat."

that might be true Kuron, if Fred & the team actively requested donations, or, perhaps, required a donation to access the latest update.

to my mind, this conversation is sounding more like a troll attempt.

I figure, donate if you like, or don't donate - no one is expecting either action.

For clarity, my comment above has nothing to do with Fred and the team. I was clearly referring to the person I quoted and their comments about their own business.

Whether your insinuation I was referring to Fred and team was intentional or not, if I don't clarify it others will jump on it.
